About the Course
Reactive Rover Class is for those dogs that bark, lunge or react to people, other dogs and moving objects. Whether out on walks, in the car or at home in the yard or house if your dog is acting out inapproprately this class is for you.
Reactive Rover an intensive seven week class that will help you to understand why your dog feels the need to react and will present various methods to help resolve the behavior. This is a very content rich class, with homework that includes training cues and relaxation protocols. Your commitment to consistant application of the skills presented in class along with practicing your homework is crutial to your dogs success. Our goal is to help your dog learn that there are other options when presented with those situations that cause all the lunging, barking, growling and poor behavior. This class is small to provide for the safely of all participants, human and canine as well as to provide the space needed to allow the dogs to feel safe.Â
The first class is held without dogs to set everyone up for success. We will cover class structure and safety as well as discuss how dogs learn and how to help them to shift their emotions from wild and crazy to calm and confident. This first session is manditory prior to attending class with your dog.

Kellys' unique ability to connect with her human students allows her to shape the learning process in ways that makes sense to both halves of the partnership: dog and human. The past thirty years she has followed and studied Suzanne Clothiers' training style and has gained her unique outlook on training from Suzanne. Kelly continues her education by participating in workshops, training camps, behavior seminars and webinars. Kelly is a member of the Association of Pet Dog Trainers, APDT, an Accredited Dog Trainer with the International Association of Animal Behavior Consultants, IAABC-ADT, a Professional Dog Trainer with the Pet Professional Guild, PPG-PDT, a Certified Fear Free Professional as well as an AKC Canine Good Citizen evaluator, STAR Puppy instructor, FIT DOG instructor and an APDT CLASS instructor. Kelly raises and shows Saint Bernard's and is proud of her owner handled AKC Champions and Grand Champions.
