About the Course
Puppy Kindergarten is for puppies between 9 and 20 weeks of age. Â We use gentle, effective techniques to guide your puppy in ways that makes sense to them. Â With appropriate handling, teaching and socialization we can prevent future behavior problems. Â
Research has shown the most important time in your dog’s life is under 16 weeks of age. Your puppy is learning every minute and enrolling in a safe well structured training group makes learning good puppy manners easy and fun. There will also be time set aside each week to answer questions about housetraining, chewing, barking and more!

With successful completion of this class your puppy to earn their​ American Kennel Club (AKC) S.T.A.R. Puppy Award.
The first class is our orientation and is held without puppies.  It is manditory that you attend an orientation prior to attending any of our groups classes with your dog.
Prerequisites: Puppies need to be at least 9 weeks old with a minimum of one Parvo and one Distemper vaccine. Puppies in this class will be continuing on with their puppy vaccine series during the 7 weeks of class.

Kelly Hawtrey
Kellys' unique ability to connect with her human students allows her to shape the learning process in ways that makes sense to both halves of the partnership: dog and human. The past thirty years she has followed and studied Suzanne Clothiers' training style and has gained her unique outlook on training from Suzanne. Kelly continues her education by participating in workshops, training camps, behavior seminars and webinars. Kelly is a member of the Association of Pet Dog Trainers, APDT, an Accredited Dog Trainer with the International Association of Animal Behavior Consultants, IAABC-ADT, a Professional Dog Trainer with the Pet Professional Guild, PPG-PDT, a Certified Fear Free Professional as well as an AKC Canine Good Citizen evaluator, STAR Puppy instructor, FIT DOG instructor and an APDT CLASS instructor. Kelly raises and shows Saint Bernard's and is proud of her owner handled AKC Champions and Grand Champions.
