About the Course

Fitness is for everyone including your dog! Our Fit Dog class focuses on conditioning, body awareness, balance and strength training for your dog.

These benefits result in a reduced risk of injury and improved flexibility for canine athletes. We know that increased mental and physical stimulation also helps with behavioral wellness. Fitness programs can reduce boredom, increase confidence and help eliminate problem behaviors.

We recommend that participants in the class complete at least a puppy class or basic manners class or the equivalent. Dogs should understand the 'training game' and be able to focus on tasks during class.  Handlers should be familiar with and understand lure-reward based training methods as well as shaping, capturing and training concepts.

Fit Dog is a perfect complement to any dog sport you are training for or considering getting started in.

Prerequisites:

Dogs should be able to work around distractions and understand lure based training methods. Minimum age 12 months.
